Approach this day with a renewed vigour dear friend.
Diamond, gold, great network, wealth, happiness, or anything of noble worth becomes yours if you believe you are deserving of such. But believing won’t get it completely done; it is working on what you believed that will grant you such landing that is desired by you.
Stretch out again today with a unique touch of excellence, be right from your end, and things will align at the other end in time.
We have always been talking about our connectivity as people. Now is the time to tweak the narrative towards the concept of individualism. When the latent capacities in individuals are given space for an expression, there will be an explosion of creativity on the surface of our continent.
The Mimesis and diffusion of foreign aid policy measures adopted by vast developing countries across the global south are rudimentary issues that continue to adversely shape their development trends thus creating the most severe problems in the realm of economic policymaking.
They are so lust after big name funds but pay less attention to the draconian conditionalities tied in.
In fact, these conditionalities will continue to exist as far we continue to seek aid and see it as a premium source of development progress.
It should be enough reason to engender a paradigm shift and build strong alliances as a continent against the culture of aid seeking.

We are in the era of globalization. Therefore, we do not oppose the injection of foreign capital in the Liberian economy. But what we are against is the super-injection of foreign capital in our economy with zero control or regulation, which creates dire conditions that kill off the creation of indigenous wealth.
Some of the major factors that gave courage to our founding fathers, such as Awolowo, Nnamdi Azikwe, Tafawa Balewa and so on, to become vehement about the fight for independence, was the exposure of the aforementioned to foreign education along side their foreign counterpart and the failure of their foreign colonists to measure up intellectually to the standard in comparison to their “black slaves”.The blacks came eventually to the realization that the white guys are not better than them after all, this gingered our founding fathers to begin the clamour for self determination.
The aforementioned factor and many others which this space will not permit me to discuss was responsible for some of the reasons our founding fathers spoke with courage In favour of independence.
I am very well aware that except for our timid nature as black people and lack of trust for the things that belong to us there is absolutely nothing in a white man that gives him an edge over the black forks?
The US, has taken up the self acclaimed place of policing the world, and have done it with so much vigor as to think that only they are correct and others are always wrong. As recent events has shown that pretentious assumption is absolutely wrong.
As it was in the pre-independent era, Africa and indeed Nigeria(being a giant of Africa) should learn to think, take decision and formulate policy(ies) on their own devoid of foreign interference and interjection. This, am glad, we are beginning to do with the recent happenings at the Africa Development Bank.
At the helm of affair at the AfDB, is a Nigerian, an illustrious son of not only Nigeria but also Africa.
Mr. Akinwumi Adesina, is an astute banker, with several years experience. He holds a PHD, in Agricultural Economics. As a minister of Agriculture in Nigeria, he was reputed for revolutionizing the Agricultural sector a feit which the present administration has greatly benefited from. Infact I had tipped him to continue his place in the new administration of Buhari, until his elevation to his present position.
It is of note that, Mr. Akinwumi is the first Nigerian to assume the top position of the AfDB, presidency, inspite of the fact that Nigeria is by far the largest share holder of the regional lending body. In other words in the 55 year history of the institution no Nigerian has ever achieved that great height. It must be said, that Mr Adesina did not assume this feit of becoming the AfDB president by mere sentiment, is a feit thoroughly deserving. Mr. Adesina is articulate and highly influential and surely do know how to get things done.
In the wake of the allegation of fraud by a whisleblower against Mr.Adesina I had prayed in my heart that he gets elected for a second term in office (as another election is barely 3 months away) as to my mind and findings he has done well enough to be given another chance. Though am very well convinced that he will achieve the second term dream, this article is not centred on his re-election bid or campaign for same, but to discuss about the spoiler role the United State Government are playing in their usual overzealous–oversabi attitude. Who ever made America a lord over us? Or a watch dog over the world? The answer is, nobody.
This article, don’t get me wrong is not about Mr. Adesina, to exalt him as a saint, no. But you know you can’t but like his person due to his effectious personality not leaving aside his intelligent attributes. But a wake up call by all especially the black race to resist the attempt by America to super impose its will whether good or bad on all of us
Like I said earlier, while I do not claim that Mr. Adesina is a saint, the criminal allegation against him was thoroughly evaluated by the body saddled with the responsibility to so do, the Ethics Committee, of AfDB and they found nothing in him. The result was not only for him to continue his place as the president of AfDB,he will also run for a second term unopposed. An integrity test no doubt.
As though they are the only non-regional members of AfDB, America through its Treasury Secretary has written to the Board of Governors rejecting the report of the Ethics Committee and it’s decision not to prosecute Mr.Adesina. It bits me hollow that of the 27 non regional members of AfDB, American singularly raised an objection. Though some of the European members has been effected by the stinking thoughts of the US, it still does not change the fact that The US is merely crying Wolf where there is known.
Are we now going to erode our thoughts and will because America said so? Do we now jettison the long standing procedure of a 55 year old institution just because America said so? Who says they are always right? Oh may be if the the investigation was conducted by The US investigator then it will be by that very means credible just because America conducted same. The earlier the United State realises that the world including its own citizens has slipped off their hands the better. Because the reality on ground is that they have lost that which made them thick, integrity and might. The simple fact that a police officer and so many others in the pay role of America Government could have such questionable character and nothing was done about it even though he had 18 official complaints against him, until he actually killed a man in the broad day light speaks of the ills in the America system and a tail of how weakened the institution in America has become.
It is now a lesson for all that America should first go and straighten their institution which was once reputed for excellence. They have become the WATCHMAN with a crooked wag without strength to forge any meaningful course.
If the responses of Nigeria Government that they stand by Mr. Adesina and indeed that of the 54 independent state in Africa is anything to go by then, Africa is on the course for true emancipation. This is not to say that we should rest on our oars as a nation and continent because if we truly need to be free we must be able to provide pipe borne water for the people, be able to build sustainable infrastructure for our teaming populace and be able to feed ourselves. Only after we are able to achieve the aforesaid can we look to America in the eye and say go to hell and burn to aches.
This is a call on us all to take Nigeria and Africa from the mouth of the Tiger.
